Project Description

FERNDALE, WA

Neptune Beach

Completed  2016
Size  2,382 sqft
Architect Stephen Dykstra

This project required quite a bit of work from the start! A full demolition and removal of the existing, decaying house was completed before work began on putting in the new foundation. This was a feat in itself and enabled the new home and garage to be built into the sloping hillside.

This two-story custom home built steps away from Neptune Beach in Ferndale, WA, was designed around the beautiful views of the Salish Sea. Its main level holds the kitchen, living and master suite for everyday living, with almost every room having large windows so you never lose sight of the views. The lower level featured a bedroom, large rec room with a standalone wood burning fireplace in the craft area, and multiple unfinished storage spaces. Two porthole windows from our clients were incorporated into the design of the home.

A detached garage provides space for 3 cars and a bathroom. It also has 2 bays with extra space to house a shop to support our client’s hobby – working on his cars.
